Pulled this picture off gunbroker and thought it would have to be just about perfect for a teenager, wife or smaller statured man.
Just be sure to announce your presence before you go strolling back into camp at night as these light carbines will convert even the smallest and most demure female into a "shoot first force of nature!

I owned one for a few years, my wife loved it and could "shoot the sh#t out of an Afghan's underpants" with it.

This Ivor-Johnson folding stocked .30M1's recoil is pretty much non-existant and ammo is small and light enough that you can carry or store heaps in a very small space. Straight case makes it easier to reload and while on the subject, uses heaps less powder than all other millsurps which of course means more bang for the buck.
