Thats the SKS on the very top.

Nice little rifle, very accurate and easy to use. Although i would like to point out that it is NOT an "assault rifle." An assault rifle has selectable fire; safe, semi-auto, three shot burst, full-auto, ETC. As far as i know all SKS models are semi-auto.
Anyway this would make an excellent surivival/self-defense rifle, hell if it is used in war it can pretty much be used for anything, anywhere.

SKS not assault rifle

The SKS is NOT and assault rifle, the definition of an "assault rifle" is:

1. It must be an individual weapon with provision to fire from the shoulder (i.e. a buttstock) and

2. It must be capable of selective fire THE SKS IS NOT NOR EVER WAS SELECT FIRE, I.E. A MACHINE GUN. and

3. It must have an intermediate-power cartridge: more power than a pistol but less than a standard rifle or battle rifle. THE SKS HAS A MORE POWERFUL ROUND THAN THE U.S. MILITARY STANDARD 5.56 ROUND AND HAS NEARLY IDENTICAL BALLISTIC CAPABILITIES AS YOUR GRANDPA'S 30-30. and

4. Its ammunition must be supplied from a detachable magazine. THE SKS USES A FIXED BOX MAGAZINE. SOME WERE MODIFIED TO USE DETACHABLE MAGAZINES BUT WERE NOT MANUFACTURED THAT WAY.

also the SKS uses one 10 round stripper clip not two 5's also the detachable magazines attach to the metal reciever of the rifle not the wood stock and if you remove the fixed magazine to use a detachable you must replace 8-9 other parts to american made parts to legally be ATF section 922r compliant. please do your homework and get your facts straight before you go stating things that are simply not true and get a nice rifle back on the "assault rifle ban list" due to lack of knowledge. if you want to know what weapons ARE defined as assault rifles follow this link
