In WWII the US Army Air Corps stocked B-25s in the Pacific Theater with a Stevens over & under for foraging. Called it a "survival gun".
Seems like it would still serve that function.

Savage .410/.22 was my first gun back in the 50's. A great gun and would make a very good (rural)survival weapon. Not sure about the .41 cal round, but you can get slugs for a .410. Wish I still had mine. Took a lot of ground hogs, squirrel and rabbits with it. Also got a deer with the .410.

OK, but as far as I know they haven't been made since 1965. Since the .410 barrel isn't rifled, I suspect accuracy might be marginal with a .41 mag. Wouldn't surprise me if it blew the barrel.
