Remington nylon 66 rifle / 30-06 Win lightweight McMillanStk2x7 Leopld

Remington Nylon 66

Remington Nylon 66

The Eskimo Scouts of WW2 fame wanted a 30/05 bolt rifle and a Colt Woodman 22 pistol and their own knife. No one is a better survivalist than them. I have several 22 caliber pistols and 22 magnum that would fit the bill. But a Remington nylon 66 weighs no more than most pistols and holds more ammo and is more accurate.
The 30/06 post 64 Winchester. I put a Lt Wt MacMillan stock on it. it is bedded and trigger worked. The Winchester trigger is a very simple device not prone to problems. I kept the iron sights and use Weaver steel rings and bases to hold a 2x7 compact Leopold scope in place. The whole rig loaded with sling barely weighs 7 lbs. I reload but this rifle shoots anything well. You can remove the Weaver rings and use the iron sights in just a minute if you had to. The caliber will take anything in North America with the right bullet and putting it in the right place.

Glad you liked my choice
by: RRR/Ellards.Al

The Nylon 66 Remington I mentioned rides in the floor of my truck every day on the farm. It has killed almost every thing you can name at one time or another. I do clean my weapons regularly, but this one even with a ride in the floor always works. Lighter than most handguns I would rather have it and a good bolt action hi powered rifle as my choice of survival tools with a good axe and knife as anything I know of.

I own 2 of these toys a 66 & a 10c.Dad got the 66 free in 1961 for buying a Rem. chainsaw. It's had a min. of 60,000 rds. thru it & it still works like a rifle that you would pay big $ for. If you're looking for an excellent .22 get one of these if you can find one.

nice selection

I love these guns. They are light, nicely contoured and not bulky. At the same time they are very durable and pratical and you don't have to worry about scratching them as easily. Give me a pratical useful gun any day over something that just looks good.
