my family thinks that I am crazy for my point of view on what is going on in this world.they think my wife and I spend too much on survival gear and first aid,long term food storage, safety equipment.they also think we are gun nut's!!!!LOL we have to hang together,not alone.

The world is crazy not you

Many people think I am insane, thus my nickname.

But is it that we are insane or has the majority of americans the ones insane? Just because a majority of people believe a certain way does not mean they are correct in their beliefs.

So I say screw em, and when the bad days come, and they will sooner or later, these very same people who think we are crazy will be the ones begging for us to help save them.

Most of us don't want to be known as "THAT GUY" wink wink nudge nudge.......... But the fact of the matter is that being prepared and self reliant is an old American core value that has become something to laugh at and make fun of. So be it.
Should the day arrive, for whatever reasons natural or otherwise, where "THAT GUY, wink wink nudge nudge" will be the person that others look to for help and assistance. It may be more like ...... Nock , nock .... " Mister THAT GUY Sir? Can you help me?" No one will be making jokes then.
So fly under the radar now and prepaire as you see fit. Hope the day may never come but be comfortable in your self reliance. However, The "Hearts and Minds" saying applies to some degree here.... At the same time you prepare for you and your family also prepare a bit for selected others... When The Situation arises the group will have a greater opportunity of survival then the individual. Pick your group with care, even if they don't know they have been chosen. Be ready to make friends and alliances as well as defend that community if required.
To go back to one of the earliest precepts or the USA. " United we stand , Divided we fall " a statement that has stood the test of time, time and time again.
Stay your course Ray, hope you never have to use or apply what you have put away but if you do I'm glad you did! I'm adding you to my extended community list should those paths come to cross.

Someone, somewhere said, something like, "I'd rather be a little spooked and prepared, as opposed to being indifferent and unprepared." Another gem I like, again, author unknown, "It's not about surviving the storm, it's about dancing in the rain".
