Ive carried a .62 cal.42" flint lock for the past 15 years. It has put a fair bit of meat over the fire. From squirrel, rabbit, pheasant, goose, deer, and elk. I've gone with this smoke pole because Its Not Easy! And you need to have a very intimate understanding of your weapon. I am capable of firing a .600 round ball/#7 /#bb or bismoth. Keep her clean and spare flints(which you can find in most of North America )you can with proper knowledge even make your powder in the field .If you're in the bush for a extended period of time this is a handy option over a cartrige weapon. Unless you go into the woods with a reloading press and powder primers and all the rest of the heavy and cumbersome ####. All you need for a smooth bore is powder horn FF powder/a small priming horn/shot pouch/patch material/and o ya BALLS! All in a handy dandy hunting bag. Don't forget your patch knife!
