Marlin 1894

Marlin 1894

I think it would make an ideal survival rifle because mine holds 10 rounds of 44 mag or 44 spl its fast light weight and easy to manuver i use mine for whitetail huntin and they dont get away(they never have taken a second step)if you know how to handle it and have the right load in your ammo its a very effective 100+ yard whitetail, bear or moose rifle and because its a lever action its not gonna hang if you get a little dirt in it although mine has never gotten dirty at all this year im planning to purchase another in a 38/357 for my wife and also as a good second take all rifle(squirel, rabbit, coyote and deer)these are my picks for great survival rifles..

Good choice! NEW

Got a .44 mag winchester carbine 20+ years ago to go along with my old Smith .44 Special, 4" bbl. As long as you stay within the reasonable limitations of the rifle/cartridge this is an excellent all-around combination. Have taken many game animals from pigs to deer with no problem. Also take it with me when I'm out walking in the bush here on the island. There are wild dogs, wild boar and two legged trouble makers aplenty. Shoot both .44 special and magnum rounds with no problems, ever. Ammo is cheaper when you reload as I do. I would not feel under equipped with my Carbine, revolver, A-1, Buck 110 and a campers axe.
