Iown an Interarms Mark X mauser action rife in .300 Winchester Magnum.
It is the perfect survival rifle to go ALONG with a .22 of your choice.
It will stop that bear and kill the moose. If you find yourself in a problem with robbers it should do the job! This rifle is somewhat similar to what was used in world war I and will work fine for you. You may choose a rem 798. But the point is it needs to be a mauser action.
For a mauser action will ALWAYS fire and will provide security agains bears and other evil.

But where it really shines is when it comes to harvesting food. Moose and deer are easily taken with this rifle.
