Marlin .44 Cal Lever Action carbine

Kept it over the years. First used as a Whitetail Deer brush gun for short range in heavy cover. I also had a S&W model 29 (yeah I know its a heavy sucker) but kept logistics simple. Note: I also own a S&W Model 57 (.41 Mag too. It was a gift in the original walnut presentation case, Never fired and plan to keep it that way until the time presents itself to be used.

I also have a Mossberg SS .12 gauge with various loads of #4 buck and 00 buck and sabot slugs with low power scope. I would like to obtain a rifled barrel too for the slugs.

Last but not least my old colt AR-15 that has been brought up to A2 specs.

I love the Marlin .44's too. In fact that is what I rely on for my home defense, deer, bear and elk hunting and also my summer hiking rifle.

I have 2 of the cowboy models in 24" versions that both hold 12+1 with that POS plastic tube filler removed. One with a scope that is loaded with very heavy 260gr cast handloads is used for my elk hunting and does very well. The other has a Williams receiver sight and uses a 255gr cast bullet at a slower velocity. That does very well for deer. It is an excellent combo for nipping the heads from grouse if they will hold still long enough!

Pair them with a .44 revolver and a man is well set to handle whatever may come.

I love Marlin .44's. Have more than a couple my ownself! Each one is paired with a 44 pistol, Rugers, Smiths and Colt Anaconda's. My 24" Marlin Cowboy version holds 12+1 of magnums, 13+1 in .44 special. They are a neat hunting rifle, a very good home defense rifle and a great hiking rifle.
