USMC
KABAR
The legendary KA-BAR
Knife, battle
tested toughness and simplicity.
Adopted by the U.S. Marines during WWII, and later by all other
branches of the military to some extent. Originally
manufactured by the Union cutlery company, KABAR knives, inc. is now
owned by the ALCAS corporation. KA-BAR owners swear by these
things... they never go dull, and they never wear out.
Stainless
steel blades are also an option.
Next Generation KA-BAR
The next
generation KA-BAR is a good looking knife, with and oval handle and
butt plate, and a lanyard hole. The black KRATON G (tm)
handle gives it a modern look, but its every bit as tough as its older
brother - the original USMC KA-BAR. At 7", the blade may be
a little long for some, but overall, these knives are great...
and will probably be handed down from you to your next
generation.
The
Name "KA_BAR" allegedly comes from a letter sent to
the
manufacturer from a trapper, after he killed a bear with his
KA-BAR. Supposedly the guy wasnt the most literate, and all that
was legible in the letter was "K A BAR".
