Kabar kukri machete the top choice for land surveyors in eastern Ky

I live in Kentucky and I have been a land surveyor for 5 years now so I've pretty much lived in the woods for the last few years. When I started work they told me I had to get a machete because it's the tool Id be using the most. I went through several machetes including a gerber gator that lasted me only 2 hours before the handle snapped that was 30 bucks blown to hell, then I bought an ontario machete I really liked it but it was a large machete and too cumbersome to pack around for 10 hours a day, then I found myself a kabar kukri machete and I can't speak highly enough of it. The thing is like a hatchet, machete, shovel and hammer rolled into one and its short enough that it isn't a pain to pack around. I have used this thing every day for almost 5 years and its still going strong the blade is thick enough to use it for digging, prying and I've even used the side of the blade to hammer nails in tree's a few times and when you swing this baby at a grapevine, tree branch or sapling it usally goes through the first time and when you need to sharpen it don't worry it's easy as pie and holds a good edge. Kabar saw fit to give it a good handle too the grip is rubber and its molded to the blade with a lanyard hole in the end ,after 5 years there is no wear and tear on the grip. The only thing I have against it was the leather sheath that came with it wasn't very durable it only lasted about a year before the holding straps came loose at that point I just ran a leather strap through the lanyard ring and used it like that. After I purchased the machete and used it for about a week everyone in the field team I work with was so impressed with it they bought themselves one too. So if I were ever in a survival situation and had my choice of a blade it would most deffinetly be the Kabar Kukri machete
