Becker BK11 AND BK2

Becker BK11 AND BK2

My BK2 knife is a heavy chunk of metal which is very heavy for its size. it is 5.5inches in blade length, and total of 10.5inches. It is 20 degrees flat ground blade. also. it is made up of 1095 high carbon steel, drop point and has grivory handle which is very comfy in hands and is well balanced knife. This BK2 also has a wonderful sheath. this knife serves its purpose well. My BK11 is a neck knife, even if its a large for being a neck knife its sheath makes it convenient to put 550 cord to be a neck knife. also. it is made of 1095 high carbon steel, flat grind. i cut the 550 cord of the BK11 to be able to put it in my BK2 as a lanyard for the knife and its sheath, also the 550 cord of the BK11 is enough for the lanyard of BK11 and Lace for its sheath. these two survival knives are one of the best but also one of the cheapest.

NEcker.. NEW
by: Spook45

I found a slightyl used becker necker this wkend in a surplus store. I got it for ten bux! What a buy! ZLove it. Did a 550 cord wrap handle and then wrapped some around the sheath too. For how small it is and its design, it is a lot of knife for the money and I got mine for $10:)

Better Becker
by: ronin923

Hi,
Knives like women are subjective. I've owned four BK&T Becker knives, the Brute, Companion, Tac-tool and the Magnum Camp. I found them uncomfortable in my hand, the handles were way too slick, even without being wet or bloody. The sheaths also were not up to hard use. I now see that they offer after market handles for these knives and maybe had they been available when I owned them, this may have solved that problem. I also found that they did not hold an edge and needed continual resharpening. On a good note, after years of ownership, I sold the set on EBAY and got back what I paid for them. As I said before knives are subjective, my Son who just got back from a deployment to Iraq, has a BK7 and he swears by it. Kids, go figure. Anyway, enjoy the Becker, I'm sure it will give you years of good service.

550 chord
by: Anonymous

Good point about using the chord.

You can easily make a bread away device using light line, or other materials.

However, doing so will increase the chance of losing it.

I wear any such under my shirt to avoid it being snagged.

I have the Becker Necker, nice.

You NEVER want to use any cord around your neck that has a greater than 25 pound breaking strength, or a releasing device. You Becker with the 550 cord is a perfect noose if you take a fall and get it caught on something or get into an altercation with someone.

That is a means to a Darwin's Award.
