Quick & Easy Feeding Fix
by: Anonymous

My new Henry did jam, as is common. Looking at the feed ramp showed me the real problem...too shallow with a sharp edge. The fix is easy and quick, and I did it while watching a TV commercial. Take a sharpened pencil and break off the graphite point. What you end up with is a nicely contoured piece of cedar. Dip that point in some Permatex valve grinding compound and work it around the feed ramp, lapping back and forth. I used a small magnifying glass to gauge my progress but you don't have to be that "anal" about it. Just break the sharp edge, polish slowly, and make sure you clean the breach when you are done. The valve grinding compound is water soluble so cleanup should be easy. Try it at the range. With this simple fix my Henry went from a "bang-jam-jam-bang-jam" to 100% reliability using CCI mini mags and Rem Golden Bullets, both my preferred 22 ammo. Cheers!

Feeding issues
by: Spook45

Has Henry solved the feeding problems that typicly come with this platform? I had an old one that was very low millage( im guessing it didnt get shot that much because it wouldnt feed) I had two barrels and mine would not run. I love agood 22 but I think using it as a sniper platform(I could be mistaken, but that looks like what youve done with it) is going to disappoint you. I like the gun even tho it has some issues, but Iwouldnt put it in a dragbag if for no other reason than bulk, it is small enough and light enough to breakdown and carry attatched to the side of your pack. There are a few articles around about how to polish the chamber opening(what they are really showning you is how to chamfer the opening to help ti feed) using an ar bullet and some lapping compound. Never did mine Instead I traded it and got something else.
