Chinese SKS

Chinese SKS

i traded a 303 british enfield for this Chinese sks in 1990. The sks was brand new never been out of box, just arrvied at the store. This sks cost $75.00 new. the gun shop gave me $150 for the 303. I didn't want to sell but i like everything about it. This sks has been all over the united states. It went through three hurricanes many of swims. I've taken this rifle through everything including a rough day at the range a couple times firing around 1500 rounds through the sks in about ten hours, not cleaning, oiling, or anything this is a great rifle. I'm thinking on putting it away and buying another one. I've took it in the mountains, swamps, desert, and it works great every time. I enjoy hiking, canoeing, fishing, and shooting. if you go outdoors this is a good firearm to buy. It breaks down easy to clean and extremely reliable. if a bear does come after you (black bear), ten rounds does stop them. from experience. its fun and easy to carry & shoot, whatever you do you'll enjoy it. also a word of advice; use a teflon oil cleaner on it. i use thompson from their black powder arms. Thompson guns (tc). salt water will cause a little problem but shoots fine.

Chinese SKS
by: Anonymous

I have an yugoslavian SKS, my brother has a norinco sks, and a couple of friends have SKS's from here and there, including china. One of them is a vietnam bring back. The one thing all of them have in common is that they are reliable, fun and cheap to shoot, and for the money its hard to beat an SKS with the 7.62x39 punch. I guess you mean you acquired your SKS in 1990 ? When I first saw that title I thought you meant manufactured in 1990... I was pretty sure they stopped making the SKS well before then.
