Blackjack Halo

Blackjack Halo

I do this for a living, carry a knife. I Taught survival for 20 years in the military and after 9/11 worked on a security team. Now I'm back into teaching folks who are heading overseas. In the last 30 years of service I've come up with two fixed blade knives which held up to what I put them through and could be afforded by normal people. (everyone needs a Randall but I put that money into body armour)Both are BlackJack knives. The first was my heavy blade, the Anaconda, This was my pack knife which did all the chores from quartering game, chopping firewood to pounding in tent stakes. Its also gone through two sheaths and is indestructible. The second is my carry knife, the Blackjack Halo. The Halo is made of A2 tool steel and again can't be beat. When I sent my last carry knife, one I had custom made and carried for twenty years (A2 also, to Afghanistan with a friend I needed a replacement. the fellow I had make my blade wasn't around anymore so I went to the one company that impressed me. The halo has the right balance, edge retention, strength and durability to stand up to anything. I like the finger groves, it makes it almost impossible to lose control of the knife, but if you don't like them they make them without. best of all its made in the USA.

Greetings,
I appreciate your assessment of the Blackjack, I've never used one, but I use my knives daily so it's good to hear someone else's opinion. My problem has always been handle design, for heavy cutting, either they're too many "hot spots" or they slip in my grasp. I've tried finger grooves, but they just don't work for me. Recently, I acquired an ESEE Junglas, so far it's fit the bill, as with your Anaconda, it cuts through anything and attaches well to my pack. I wrote my assessment in this forum, just waiting for it to be posted. Thanks for your service and for your continued training of personnel willing to go into harm's way.

Yea, this is a copy of the Randall #14 attack knife. IT is made to very close spec. Ive been thinking about getting one for myself but I wan to actually lay hands on one before I buy. IT looks as well built but nothing in this world feels like a randall in your hand. I can hold that knife and it is so weighty and centerd that it feels like a freakin baseball bat!
