Arthritic Go-Bag or Old mans Giddy-up-go Bag

by Henry
(Idalou Texas)

Serious weight restrictions have limited my EDC bag. This thread is for old geezers who still refuse to give up! I'm 65 years old, so I had to give serious thought to content and weight. I divided my pack into 4 separate compartments. 1. Hydration-camelback, filtration 2. Food- Hobo stove, Fire starters, utensils 3. Medical kit- (complete) w/6mo. meds 4. Personal kit- X-tra clothes, hygiene items, Emergency survival pack Attached to my bag are two pvc tubes, one is my fishing unit, the other holds my fire tinder, and dried herbs. My bedroll is attached to the top of my pack, civil war style. It has various items rolled up inside. I have chosen each and every item based on quality first, then weight. Finally, I choose a Henry 22mag rifle w500 rds ammo. My choice in knives: mineral mountain bowie, applegate-fairbairn folder, case pocket knife. Total weight is 32.6 pounds.

Not too bad for a fellow Geezer

I personally agree with you on the 22 magnum, although mine is a Ruger 96/22. I mounted an aluminum rod on the base of my pack frame with a couple of lightweight wheels so I can drag it if I want to being that I already had one heart attack. I am with you on the supply of meds - absolutely!
