It doesn't really matter what weapon you choose. As long as it is reliable and most of all accurate! Depending on the survival situation you are preparing for, there are a few points that must be addressed. The older rifles such as the mauser, and Mosin Nagant, have non typical ammunition which will be hard to come across once you run out of your stock. If you are preparing for the appocilypse or foriegn invasion, caliber should be the only thing on your mind. Nato type weapons should be your choice. There will be plenty of 5.56, .308 Win and 7.62 Russian laying around to replentish your stock. Pistol caliber is a no brainer, 9mm and .45ACP for the simple fact it is the most common amoung military and police all over the world. To sum it up, doesnt matter what you decide with, as long as you are proficient with it and have enough ammo to get more when you need it (if you know what I mean!) |
