Ontario TAK 1Ontario knife company has been making quality knifes like the Ontario TAK 1 since 1889. Originally the company was based in Ontario county, NY, hence the name. The 10 inch long TAK 1 features a 4.25" 1095 carbon steel blade finished in zinc phosphate. The handle is made from a tough green canvas micarta material, and has a lanyard hole at the back.  Like most ontario knives, the TAK 1 is a no frills tool, built to work hard. Randall's adventure and training (RAT), a professional survival training and research team based in Alabama has come together with Ontario to develop several knives, including the TAK 1 D2, which has a D2 tool steel blade with the RAT logo, and grey handle. Both the TAK 1 and the TAK 1 D2 come with a cordura nylon sheath with lashing holes.  Ontario knives has a long history
of providing knives, machetes and bayonets to the military.
This continues today with knives like the TAK 1, the Ontario ASEK, and
the many other fine knives manufactured by Ontario right here in the
USA.
