Leatherman Wave.
| Leatherman Wave inventor, Tim Leatherman
invented the Multi-tool in
1969, in 1980 he got his
first patent and begain producing the first multi-tools. The
Leatherman wave was introduced in 1998 and revolutionized the
multi-tool industry. The wave introduced features such as
external
access to key features, Locking blades and tools, and rounded
comfortable handles. You dont need to open the
handles of the tool to
use either of the razor sharp blades, the saw, or the file.
To this
day the it is the most popular leatherman tool sold. |

| The newest version
of the wave has a small and large bit driver, and an optional bit kit,
featuring 21 double ended bits. It can be purchansed for $20
or less, and is a handy item if you are mechanically enclined, or if
you choose to keep the wave in your car
survival kit. The bit kit includes various sizes of
Hex, Torx, Phillips, Slotted and Robertson bits. There is
even a flat and phillips eyeglasses bit. |

The
externally accessible knife blades are easy to open with one hand
thanks to the thumb hole in the spine of the blade. Once
opened they click into the locked position with a great sounding
clunk, like the door of a mercedes benz. Unlocking
is a simple matter of pressing down on the lock with your thumb.
The Wave measures 4" closed and 6.3 inches open.
Weight is considerable at 8.5 oz, but you cant get a better
equipped half pound tool box anywhere.
The Leatherman Wave is covered by 25 year warranty from the purchase
date for any defect in workmanship or materials. The warranty
is voided by abuse, misuse, or alteration of the tool. The
warranty does not cover sheaths, accessories, imprinting, color
finishes, cleaning or sharpening. |
