Kershaw BoaThe tough looking Kershaw Boa features a black anodized aluminum handle w/ stainless pocket clip. Designed by Ken Onion, the boa utilizes Kershaws speedsafe assisted opening for easy ambidextrous opening. The mechanism has been tested to 10,000 opens/closes...but if you wear it out, they'll replace it for you. The thumb stud can be screwed into either side for left or right handed users. There is a clip on the right side of the handle, which leaves about 1/2 inch of the handle riding above the top of the pocket. The S30V blade has a tungsten DLC
coating and measures
3-3/8". Closed length is 4-3/4". The blade shape
combined with the well balanced ergonomic handle make it an efficient,
precise cutter. The Boa used to be
a multi-colored fruitcake of a knife with a 440 blade. Its
new "all black" makeover and S30V blade is a definite improvement.
Kershaw offers a lifetime warranty on the boa, as long as it has not been "abused" they will replace it free of charge should you have any trouble with it. You can also send your knife back to Kershaw at any time and they will sharpen it free of charge, a service most manufacturers charge a fee for. MSRP is $185, but like everything else, it can be found for substaintially less.
